Yes the Dan and Phil journal skin returns!
... Let's be honest we all knew it'd be back pretty quickly.
So, it seems like I spend quite a lot of my time lately thinking about fandoms and how interesting the entire dynamics of a fandom is. I've made a few journals now about my personal 'fan experiences', but I want to touch on fandoms as a whole... And the things I've noticed.
I warn you this might turn into a rant at some point.
Okay, so as someone who has been pretty much purely part of the MCR fandom (which includes it's subsections of what is now the Gerard fandom and the Frank fandom, I'm sure soon to be joined by the Electric Century
I think that sometimes we overestimate what mothers can do and handle. Or perhaps it's just that we don't really realize that they're people until we see them crying in their room. But mothers, no matter how strong they are or claim to be, need support. In a lot of stories, old and new, mothers are seen as strong, almost invincible support systems. They take care of everyone around them, they look for the bright side and they always work to help. Because of that, I think we don't really see just how...overwhelmed they are.
Of course, some mothers are pretty terrible. But the majority, I've found, are just trying their best to become that per
I guess the truth is I never really cared about being 'cool'.
Even in school, that wasn't ever a priority for me. I'm afraid I was that incredibly stereotypical kid, keeping my head down, blending in, praying not to be noticed.
The worst thing, I think, is walking in someplace where you feel like you SHOULD belong, and feeling so completely outside of it. I remember one such instance, again, while at school. In my local town, there used to be a stall in the market that was all, completely, gothic stuff. It was beautiful. I loved it so much. But there was me, looking as plain as they come and I felt like an imposter.
Thankfully, in the yea
I'm aware I still need/want to give you guys a full account of my crazy/brilliant week last month, wherein I got to see Gerard three times. I want to give you guys that review, truly I do. It's just difficult to cram all of those emotions and memories into one space! :faint:
I'll get there, though, I promise
But first, I wanted to share something else with you guys.
Perhaps I am a little too open at times, it does occur to me. But... If people are not open, then things become buried, and taboo, and that is how so much bad can exist in the world. People not being themselves, or feeling like they cannot be themselves, can do so, so m

Wow... This Week Has Been Huge
Hello everyone!
Well... What a week!
The roller-coaster started on Sunday in fact. The news that Gerard was officially in London sent me a little giddy with excitement, reminding me just how close it was until all the good things about this week was.
I tweeted Gerard to say I was seeing him on my Birthday, and he favourited it.
So, that kick started it all off.
Then. Very suddenly, Monday happened.
In the morning, Gerard tweeted about being at the BBC studios later that day. And, immediately I was checking to see how easy it would be to get there.
Very easy, it turned out. But I had things I had to do that morning, and, I reasoned

Group Switch Around Meme Results!
The Results!
Apologies for the ridiculously late posting, but here are the results of our first group Switch Around Meme collaboration! We had 50+participants, 150+ individual artworks, and a whole bunch of fantastic final pieces, so make sure to take a look. :la:
Thank you to all the participants, all our helper line-art and coloring artists, as well as the admins who helped me manage this event. :huggle: This collaboration event was met with a great deal of enthusiasm, so we will likely have more (better-organized) collab events in the future. :dummy:
These compilations were arbitrarily split up into sets of ten, just so that there wouldn
Presentation matters
It's not just the artwork that tells you something about it's creator - on the internet, the way you present it is at least equally as important. Your painting can be a masterpiece, hanged in a local gallery, but as long as you post a blurry, badly cropped picture named "1564873" along with "..." in an artist's description, nobody will ever bother visiting your gallery. Creating a nice, representative profile page and setting a certain visual quality standard takes extra time and effort, but if you really care for your work (even if it's just a hobby), you should treat it with some respect.
I've already written a relate

:bulletyellow: Watch people when you honestly find them interesting.
:bulletyellow: Watch your friends, even if they don't have amazing art. It helps you stay updated with their progress.
:bulletyellow: Watch groups. They'll offer you a fine selection of art you're interested in, and will help you discover new (interesting) artists.
:bulletyellow: Check the faves of people you watch. As you like their work, you might have similar tastes in art. Checking their faves might help you find cool art.

For many artists, art theft is a frustrating reality. No matter how we watermark, logo, or constrain the resolution of our work, there are instances where artwork will be reposted, ripped, or used for commercial gain without credit or compensation. For some, this can be almost flattering, to know that there are those that like your work enough to steal it. But, the fact still remains, that your work has been used without permission, and for no gain of your own.
My ExperienceI have been a photographer for four years now, and throughout that time I am always learning. Part of that education is around copyright, and how to protect my work. The
